Paul Goldschmidt smashed 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI at Coors Field '13 where the
Lansdale Red Beards 4 beat the Nevada Nukes in 12 innings 11 to 7.
Both teams were tied at 7 runs apiece after nine innings. Lansdale finally
pulled the game out in the 12th inning. The crucial at-bat was provided by
Goldschmidt, who helped quiet the crowd when he rifled a three-run blast (his
2nd of the season). Lansdale out-hit Nevada for the game, 18 hits to 13.
Cody Allen(1-0) got the win allowing no runs in 2 innings. Matt Guerrier(0-1)
was given the loss in relief. 'It's just about getting in a good hitting
position and just going out there and being prepared,' Goldschmidt said. 'You
try to hit in your own capacity and not do too much. I just try to have a
good approach, day after day, game by game, and pitch by pitch.'
