Derrick Robinson had 3 base hits and Hisashi Iwakuma carried a no-hitter into
the 6th inning at Wrigley Field '13 as the Lansdale Red Beards 4 beat the
Yellowstone Wolfpack 5 to 2.
Iwakuma(8-9) earned his pay with a solid performance for Lansdale. He went 6
innings allowing 3 hits and no walks. The right-handed Iwakuma lost his
no-hit bid when Dustin Pedroia singled with nobody out in the 6th inning.
Lansdale had 12 hits overall, while Yellowstone had 5.
Iwakuma got help from Glen Perkins who was credited with his 23rd save. Adam
Wainwright(14-12) was the loser. He got hit hard, allowing 9 hits and 4
walks in 5 and 2/3 innings.
'Ahhh, that victory was surely needed. Man alive, things were getting awfully
grim,' noted Red Beard. 'Now, we need to string a bunch of wins together and
turn things around!'
