A.J. Griffin dominated striking out 12 Nevada batters and Nate Freiman slammed
2 homeruns and had 6 RBI as the Lansdale Red Beards 4 defeated the Nevada
Nukes by a score of 12 to 8 at Coors Field '13.
Freiman was a source of great heartache for the Nevada faithful all day. He
just kept pounding out hits! He lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in the 1st
inning, popped a two-run clout over the fence (his 6th of the season) in the
2nd inning, lined a base-hit scoring a run in the 6th inning and laced a
one-base hit which scored a run in the 8th inning. Lansdale rapped out 14
hits for the afternoon.
Griffin(14-9) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 innings and allowing 4
runs. Kevin Slowey was credited with his 3rd save. Chris Sale(17-15) took
the loss. He served up 3 homeruns in his 3 innings.
Arf Barkmore was impressed with Griffin and his 12 strikeouts. 'It's tough to
generate runs if you can't make contact with the ball.'
