Center fielder Andre Ethier smashed 4 homeruns and had 6 RBI and Jake Diekman
was great in relief as the Long Island WeArePlayers4 beat the Lansdale Red
Beards 4 by a score of 14 to 5.
Ethier enjoyed a big day at the plate. He smashed a solo-shot out of the park
in the 4th inning, delivered a solo blast in the 6th inning, cracked a
two-run shot in the 8th inning and popped a two-run clout over the fence (his
18th of the season) in the 9th inning. Diekman was perfect in relief and
gained credit for his 2nd save.
The win was credited to Clay Buchholz(14-10) who went 6 and 2/3 innings
allowing 5 runs. A.J. Griffin(16-10) was hit with the loss. He allowed 4
homeruns in 5 innings of work.
'I was really seeing the ball today,' Ethier said 'I wish it was always this
easy.'
