Starling Marte jacked one out of the ballyard and had 2 RBI as the Chicago
South Siders defeated the Killer Rabbits of Caerbannog by a score of 2 to 1
at Rangers Ballpark '13.
Chicago brought 2 runs across the plate in the bottom of the 5th inning. The
key at-bat was by Marte, who thrilled the crowd when he lifted one out of the
park for a two run home run (his 9th of the season). Kenley Jansen earned
the save with a perfect ninth, his 19th save.
Andrew Cashner(5-4) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 innings and
allowing 1 run. Bruce Chen(2-7) absorbed the loss. 'I didn't have my best
stuff but sometimes you just get lucky,' Cashner said, 'this was one of those
times.'
