Tanner Roark carried a no-hitter into the 6th inning as the Scripps Ranch club
won a dandy at Busch Stadium '13 over the Killer Rabbits of Caerbannog, 2 to
0.
Scripps Ranch had the game winning rally in the 9th inning with 2 runs. Hunter
Pence led off and started the attack as he drew a walk. Allen Craig was next
to the plate and he blasted a two-run home run (his 3rd of the season)
resulting in an exciting win for Scripps Ranch and a wild post-game
celebration by the home town fans. Scripps Ranch managed only 4 hits on the
afternoon.
Kevin Siegrist(2-3) got the win allowing no runs in 3 innings. The
right-handed Roark lost his chance for a no-hitter when John Jaso singled
with two outs in the 6th inning. Brett Oberholtzer(4-7) was the loser. He
surrendered only 2 runs and 4 hits in 8 innings.
