Jay Bruce lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 2 RBI and Gio Gonzalez
mowed down 12 Killer Rabbits batters at Yankee Stadium '13 as the Teaneck
Tornado beat the Killer Rabbits of Caerbannog in 14 innings 6 to 4.
The score was knotted at 4 after nine innings. Teaneck won the hard fought
contest in the 14th inning. After an out was recorded, Jed Lowrie began the
rally when he slapped a single. Ian Kinsler got his chance to keep things
going, but he went down on strikes. Bruce then lifted one out of the park
for a two run home run (his 4th of the season) giving Teaneck the win and
sending the home town fans into a frenzy. Teaneck had a total of 10 hits for
the game.
Drew Smyly(2-0) went 3 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory.
Mariano Rivera(0-1) was the losing pitcher in relief. He surrendered 2 hits
and no walks in 2/3 of an inning.
