49,717 fans were treated to a fine game at Wrigley Field '66 as only one run separated the combatants at game's end. The BS1 Giants won by the slimmest of margins, 4 to 3.

BS1 scored the deciding run in the 8th inning. Ben Chapman drew a walk. Roy McMillan stepped up next and he slapped a base-hit. Rocky Bridges dug into the batters box next, but he struck out. Bob Thurman came up and he hit a deep fly scoring the run. Number made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.

The victory went to Randy Johnson(13-15) who went 8 innings, allowing 3 runs. Johnson got help from Barney Schultz who was credited with his 9th save. Bruce Sutter(15-8) took the loss in relief. He pitched 2 innings giving up 1 hit and 4 walks.

'Fundamentals, fundamentals, fundamentals' said 2 after the game. 'We lost this game today because we didn't follow the instructions every Little Leaguer hears every day.'
