Y Tu Mama Tambien broke the deadlock in their last at bats, pulling out a 7
to 6 win over the Brooklyn Bookbinders and sending their hometown fans home
smiling.
The game was won by Y Tu Mama with a run in the 9th inning. After an out was
recorded, George Foster stroked a base-hit. Earl Webb came to the plate and
ripped a base-knock. Webb took second on the throw. Ivan Rodriguez then
lined a single giving Y Tu Mama the victory and sending the 32,829 home-town
fans home happy. Brooklyn was out-hit by Y Tu Mama, 17 hits to 11.
Eric Gagne(3-3) went 1 and 2/3 innings allowing 1 run for the win. Pete
Richert(1-1) ended up with the loss in relief. He gave up 1 run in 1 and 1/3
innings and saw his ERA jump from 1.13 to 1.93.
