Dave Johnson cracked 2 homeruns as the Y Tu Mama Tambien defeated the ice-cold
Small Ball Wonders 5 to 4 at Busch Stadium '78.
Y Tu Mama jumped out to the early lead in the first inning when they tallied 2
runs on 2 hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Eddie Mathews, who
silenced the stadium when he cracked a two-run shot (his 13th of the season).
Small Ball went down quietly in the bottom of the 9th.
Ed Reulbach(6-1) went 7 and 2/3 innings allowing 4 runs for the victory.
Reulbach got help from Eric Gagne who was credited with his 10th save. Jim
Kaat(2-4) took the loss. He allowed 3 homeruns in 7 innings of work.
'It wasn't my best outing, but I'll take the win' Reulbach said.
