47,411 fans were treated to a fine game at Fenway Park '71 as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end. The Y Tu Mama Tambien won by the
slimmest of margins, 5 to 4.
Jack Pfiester(11-5) pitched a solid game. He was reached for 6 hits and 3
walks in 8 and 1/3 innings. Pattaya threatened in the 9th but Y Tu Mama was
able to put down the rally.
Pfiester was helped out by Eric Gagne who recorded his 23rd save. Whitey
Ford(10-12) ended up with the loss. He allowed 5 hits and no walks in 6
innings.
No one has been able to stop Y Tu Mama lately as they lengthened their winning
streak to 6 games. 'Everything seems to be going right for us' said Padre.
