At Forbes Field '09 the Two Ring Circus were able to stop their 7 game losing
streak and outscored the Y Tu Mama Tambien 5 to 2.
Two Ring brought 3 runs across the plate in the 3rd inning with the help of 4
hits. Joe Kelley started the inning off right when he banged out a single.
Edgar Martinez struck out, unable to help the rally. Lou Gehrig then lined a
one-base hit. Sam Thompson was up next and he tripled knocking home two
runners. Willie McGee stepped into the box and delivered a base-hit scoring
the final run of the inning. The early run support proved sufficient for
Christy Mathewson(12-10) and Two Ring. That was all the run support
Mathewson required. Two Ring had 11 hits overall, while Y Tu Mama had 7.
Mathewson got help from Rob Dibble who was credited with his 18th save. Joel
Pineiro(12-5) took the loss. He surrendered 4 runs and 11 hits in 6 innings.
