Frank Thomas smashed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Y Tu Mama Tambien pulled
out a win over the Seim Reapers by a score of 5 to 2 at Fenway Park '71.
Y Tu Mama erupted with the game winning runs in the 9th inning scoring 3 runs.
Wally Gerber led off and started the attack as he drew a walk. Hugh Critz
stepped into the batter's box and he laid down a sacrifice bunt. One out
later, Earl Webb came to the plate and was walked intentionally. Thomas
stepped in and he lost the ball over the fence for three runs (his 32nd of
the season) making Y Tu Mama the victors to the delight of the home town
faithful. Y Tu Mama ended up with 9 hits for the game while Seim had 6.
Eric Gagne(8-12) went 1 inning allowing 1 run for the victory. Al McBean(2-1)
was the losing pitcher in relief. With this win, Y Tu Mama has a division
leading 67-47 record. They have been 6-4 lately. With this loss, Seim has a
7-3 record of late, 56-58 overall.
