Jack Pfiester took a no-hitter into the 8th inning as the Y Tu Mama Tambien
defeated the Pattaya BS16 BlueMoose1 by the score of 3 to 0 at Fenway Park
'71.
Pfiester(13-6) came through with a virtuoso performance against the Pattaya
hitters. He didn't give up much, just 1 hit and 3 walks in 8 innings. The
left-handed Pfiester lost his chance for a no-hitter when Sam Dente singled
with two outs in the 8th inning. Y Tu Mama had only 5 hits for the game.
Pfiester got relief help from Eric Gagne who gained credit for his 31st save.
Tom Seaver(15-11) took the loss. Although losing the contest, he whiffed 11
batters in 7 innings.
