At Fenway Park '71, the Y Tu Mama fans witnessed a great pitcher's duel. Ed
Reulbach(12-5) finally bested his Pattaya opposite, Whitey Ford(15-14), by
the score of 2 to 1.
Reulbach had a solid outing for Y Tu Mama. He went 7 and 2/3 innings allowing
8 hits and 6 walks. The teams had been locked in a scoreless duel until the
6th inning.
Billy Wagner got the save, his 8th. Ford ended up with the loss. 'I always
am most impressed when a pitcher finds a way to win even without his best
stuff,' Padre said after the game. 'Reulbach did not have command of his
pitches most of the afternoon, but he proved he really knew how to pitch!'
