The Y Tu Mama Tambien came roaring back in the top of the ninth to spoil the
anticipated celebration of the hometown fans. The final score,, was 4 to
3.
Y Tu Mama scored the decisive runs in a big top of the 9th inning scoring 3
runs using 3 hits. After two outs Frank Thomas started the attack as he
delivered a single. George Foster stepped up next and he cleared the fences
for a two-run home run (his 58th of the season). Dave Johnson then cracked a
solo homerun (his 32nd of the season). Y Tu Mama managed only 6 hits on the
afternoon.
Eric Gagne(12-14) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the win. Frank
Linzy(1-1) took the loss in relief. 'We just kept swinging the bats and
didn't give up,' Frank Taveras said. 'If you just keep trying good things can
happen!'
