Bob Johnson connected with a 'big fly' and had 3 RBI at Minute Maid Field '05
as the Humble Hopefuls beat the Holiday BSers2 by the count of 8 to
2.
Humble jumped on top of Holiday in the 2nd inning with 3 runs using 4 hits.
Greg Luzinski led off and started the rally when he drew a walk. Raul
Mondesi stepped up to the plate and he popped a two-run clout over the fence
(his 5th of the season). Johnson then blasted a solo shot (his 3rd of the
season). That was all the offense they were to need. Overall Humble out-hit
Holiday 11 to 8.
The win was credited to Hal Schumacher(3-2) who went 7 innings allowing 1 run.
Dixie Davis(2-4) absorbed the loss. He pitched 8 innings giving up 9 hits
and 8 walks.
