Frank Howard slammed 3 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Green Mountain Gazpacho
defeated the Boyd's Justified by the score of 10 to 3 at Minute Maid Field
'05.
It seemed that Boyd's pitching was serving up softballs for Howard to hit. He
smashed a two-run homer in the 1st inning, ripped a solo home run in the 3rd
inning and bombed a two-run dinger (his 9th of the season) in the 4th inning.
Green Mountain had 12 hits for the game and Boyd's had 6.
The victory was credited to Bill Swift(2-2) who went 7 and 2/3 innings,
allowing 2 runs. Joaquin Andujar(1-3) suffered the loss. He allowed 6
homeruns in 3 and 1/3 innings of work.
'I didn't feel that good when I came to the park today,' Howard said. 'I'm
glad I decided to play!'
