One run was the difference at Minute Maid Field '05 as the Holiday BSers2
defeated the Beantown Midnight Riders 5 to 4.
Wally Berger had a big day at the plate. He ripped a base-knock in the 2nd
inning, doubled plating two runs in the 3rd inning and ripped a solo home run
(his 13th of the season) in the 5th inning. Beantown had a chance to come
back in the 9th but they came up short.
Dixie Davis(4-6) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 and 1/3 innings and
allowing 3 runs. Dale Murray earned his 14th save. Greg Harris(2-2) was
given the loss. He was touched for 9 hits and 4 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings.
Paul Revere was in a contemplative mood after the tough loss, 'It is really
hard to lose this kind of a game. It may seem weird to some, but it is
easier to take the occasional blow-out loss. It is the ones that just barely
get away that hurt so much - like this one!'
