Right fielder Raul Mondesi had 2 base hits and 2 RBI and Frank Gabler had a
strong outing at Camden Yards '05 where the Humble Hopefuls beat the Tampa
Barnstormer 2 3 to 2.
Humble drew first blood, jumping out to an early lead in the first inning when
they tallied 2 runs on 2 hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Mondesi,
who brought a roar from the partisan Camden Yards '05 fans when he doubled
plating two runs. Tampa made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to
push the needed runs across.
The victory went to Gabler(3-2) who went 6 innings, allowing no runs. Gabler
was helped out by Archie McKain who recorded his 6th save. Larry
Dierker(4-6) was charged with the loss.
The Humble ballclub's record now stands at a division leading 29-15. With the
loss, Tampa has a record of 4-6 lately, 19-25 overall.
