The Storm Riders nipped the Streetwalking Cheetahs 4 to 3 at Griffith Stadium
'54 in a hard fought contest.
Streetwalking never recovered after Storm took the lead in the 2nd inning
scoring a single run. The pitchers took over after the 4th inning as neither
team was able to score again.
The winning pitcher was Ewell Blackwell(17-7) who allowed 3 runs in 7 and 2/3
innings. Jesse Orosco earned the save, his 16th. Ben Sheets(6-10) was the
loser. He struck out 14 batters in 8 innings despite losing the game.
