At Shibe Park '38, the Texas fans witnessed a great pitcher's duel. Eggie
Hensley(1-0) finally bested his Mission opposite, Pete Vuckovich(0-1), by the
score of 3 to 1.
Mission was unable to claim the lead after Texas went ahead in the bottom of
the 4th inning plating a single run on 2 hits. Although they lost, Mission
did out-hit Texas 8 to 4.
Hensley got relief help from Mike Marshall who gained credit for his 2nd save.
Vuckovich was charged with the loss.
