Left fielder George Foster launched 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Curt Schilling dominated striking out 11 Milwaukee batters as the Encinitas Swamis defeated the Milwaukee Bombers by a score of 6 to 1 at Polo Grounds '41.

Foster was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided much of the offense for the visitors. He cracked a two-run shot in the 3rd inning and ripped a solo home run (his 4th of the season) in the 5th inning. Encinitas totaled 12 hits on the afternoon.

Schilling(3-1), allowing 1 run for the game, picked up the victory. Frank Wickware(1-3) was given the loss. He was unable to control the Encinitas offense and allowed 7 hits and 2 walks in 3 innings.

Schilling was humble when questioned about his performance, 'Well, I felt pretty confident in my pitches this afternoon. But, I had great support behind me and I just threw what was called. That was an extremely well called game!'
