Pop Lloyd had 2 base hits at Forbes Field '57 as the Club 33 Royals staged a
comeback win over the The Wrong Stuff in 11 innings by the count of 4 to
3.
The game was deadlocked at 2 after nine full innings. Club 33 won the hard
fought contest in the 11th inning. After an out was recorded, Lloyd got
things rolling when he banged out a single. Roberto Clemente was next to the
plate and he cleared the fences for a two-run home run (his 1st of the
season) resulting in a mighty exciting win for Club 33 and the 49,806 home
town fans in attendance. Both teams finished the game with 8 hits.
The victory went to Ad Liska(1-0) who went 1 inning, allowing 1 run. Paul
Lapalme(1-2) was charged with the loss in relief.
