Troy Percival was great in relief and Arky Vaughan touched them all and had 3
RBI as the Arlington Aces defeated the South Park Penguins by a score of 10
to 9 at Shea Stadium '71.
Vaughan enjoyed a big day at the plate. He tripled plating a run in the 2nd
inning, banged out a single in the 5th inning and lifted one out of the park
for a two run home run (his 6th of the season) in the 8th inning. John
Franco(1-0) got help from Percival who pitched a perfect ninth and was
credited with his 8th save.
The losing pitcher was Jonathan Papelbon(1-3) in relief. 'We really needed
this win' said Ham Sammich. 'That first drink of water at the end of a
drought sure does taste good!'
